Developing with Simplified.Travel’s itinerary API for tourism websites

The Simplified.Travel (S.T) platform is designed to deliver our custom AI models to destinations and organizations with some simple management and development experiences.

Primarily we want to make our platform as accessible as possible to DMO, CVB, Hotel, Travel Agencies and other trade trade organizations of many different sizes and capabilities.

Maybe you are a marketing shop with a small team of designers and developers, using a 3rd-Party dev shop, or maybe you are a larger organization with a team of developers ready to go.

Out of the box, the simplest way to integrate the Simplified.Travel tool into your web site is to add it via an iframe.

With a single line of code you can add our AI Trip Builder to any page within your site and start providing itineraries to your site’s users.

You can customize the look-and-feel of S.T with your branding, add some of your own content and instructions, and make it yours. Your site gets a dynamic itinerary platform with low cost, and quick set up vs. doing it yourself.

The tradeoff here is that while we do provide the ability to customize the design, you are still restricted to our standardized experience.

The Platform is a modern REST API that follows typical platform patterns that developers can use to integrate Simplified.Travel’s service with yours.

Integrating directly with the API means you can use your own UX/UI but connect directly to Simplified.Travel for the bespoke itinerary content.

Like other LLM services, depending on the complexity of the traveler's request, an itinerary process can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. You can balance speed vs. quality by choosing whether or not to take advantage of S.T’s AI Agents.

This means that whatever you build, you must plan for how you would like the generation process to go:

• You can follow an asynchronous pattern and send a "job" via our API, and then accept a notification later (via webhook) when your itinerary is ready.

• You can use a synchronous method to connect to our stream and receive the content from the platform as it is available, complete with realtime AI progress updates.
